BlackBerry : Storm2 9520

Much like other STORM series smartphones Storm2 9520 is also a touch screen one. Featuring a 3.25" TFT capacitive display the storm2 makes a stormy statement at first glance.Co incidentally all STORM series smartphones from blackberry have the same display size at 3.25". we would have appreciated a bigger display though this one is adequate to fulfill our  needs.

Main Features of Storm2 9520:

Blackberry Storm 2 runs on OS 5 and is guided by
piezzo technology

  • Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and 2100 MHz 3G with HSPA support
  • 3.15 MP autofocus camera with LED flash
  • WiFi and built-in GPS with BlackBerry maps
  • Document editor
  • 2 GB internal storage and a hot-swappable microSD card slot
Feel and look of the mobile is solid and good amount of metal is used for the body. 14mm thin and weighing 160 grams it feels a bit more thick but its just as heavy as other STORM series which means there is not much change as far as the weight is concerned. However , talking about change one major change that we see in this STORM 2 which was not in the previous versions is the use of piezzo technology which is pretty responsive and responds uniquely to each touch . In simple words this time you will see a lot more improvement in messaging as well as doing other things on the touchscreen. Remember messaging from a touchscreen is never easier then the ordinary QWERTY keypad but the use of piezzo technology has made is quite close to the original QWERTY experience. In our opinion messaging experience from STORM2 is the most fastest we've seen on a Blackberry touch before. Its definitely a step ahead from the Surepress experience of STORM.

Talking about the 3.15 MP camera , there is nothing much to say . It's an average 3MP camera and video recording is just as decent as the photos. Though the camera is equipped with LED flash , image stabilization , auto focus and Geo-tagging features.
Audio quality is also the nicest that we can expect from a Blackberry .

Some negatives of STORM2:
Blackberry Storm2 9520
 priced at 34000* PKR

  • Micro USB port in the left is without cover so you have to watch out for the dust that is going to settle in
  • No support for direct message sending to other social networks except Facebook.
  • No Fm radio {if you are a radio buff its a strong negative
Overall, Storm2 has definitely an edge over STORM . Some minor changes are sure welcome in the later STORM editions like a bigger display and we would like a more thinner STORM then the present one.

Media player supports:

  • Audio format support: MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, WMA ProPlus
