BlackBerry implements pornography filter for Indonesia

Research in Motion (RIM) is in the process of implementing filters for blocking pornography accessible through BlackBerry phones in Indonesia. The process started after Indonesian government asked the company to do so and gave 21st January deadline.

"RIM looks forward to continuing our investments in the Indonesian marketplace and to continue supporting the needs of our customers, developers and distribution partners,” the RIM statement said.

Communications and Information Minister said he was grateful for the Internet content filter in a statement he issued Thursday.

He further said "“Therefore, the ministry appreciates RIM’s Canadian management for fulfilling its commitment to filter pornographic content before the deadline,”
