Top 5 : Upcoming Tablets of the year

Well, 2011 is being labeled as the year of tablets. Since the launch of Apple's iPad there has been an increase in tablet manufacturers around the world and to this date tablets seem to be launching every other day with every manufacturer wanting to grab a share of this newly found market. Following iPad's successful show , Samsung launched its own tablet called the Galaxy Tab which managed to capture a good amount of market and sold 6 million units in a month alone. 
Today there are various manufacturers who are all in a race to offer the best tablet to the customers and we are here to give you a list of top 5 tablets which are announced and unveiled in CES 2011 which you should know about.


1. Dell Streak 7

Dell streak 7 is a powerful tablet powered by  1Ghz Tegra processor and flaunts a 7 inch gorilla display , a size which most of the experts agree to being the standard tablet size display. It is is the first 4G device by Dell having dual camera , 5MP back and 1.3 MP videocall camera besides having 16GB internal memory. This tablet is sure to be giving a nice competition when it releases later this year.


2. RIM Playbook

We all are aware of RIM's ability to produce exclusive business phones with the brand name BlackBerry. Well the same company will be soon rolling out a tablet called "Playbook". Amongst other features the most notable features are 7inch display with just 0.4mm thickness and weights just 0.9 pounds which is one third less then the Samsung Galaxy Tab and the Apple iPad. Playbook is entirely gesture control based so there are no buttons. It has multi tasking facility and handles all applications with a breeze.


It has a 1GHz ARM Cortex A9 dual-core processor, with 1 GB RAM support and has 3G and WiFi on-board. Unlike other tablets which run on Google's android platform except the iPad , BlackBerry PlayBook will run on the BlackBerry OS.
Lenovo Ideapad/Lepad


3. Lenovo Ideapad/Lepad


Lenovo ideapad/Lepad is an exciting notebook plus tablet meaning has dual functionality. It serves as a notebook and when detached becomes a tablet powered by android 2.2
Interestingly you can buy either the Lepad "tablet" for $500 bucks or you can get the full notebook plus Lepad at a price of $1300 . The choice is yours but it's definitely an interesting piece of technology.

4.Toshiba Tegra 2


The name is not official though but since it utilizes Nvidia's Tegra chip technology we call it Tegra 2 for the moment. Toshiba's offering has a larger 10inch display. It will be running on android 3.0 and will have features like HD video playing, 2MP front and 5MP rear cameras as well as USB , microSD card slot and ambient light sensors. It also supports flash videos so you can watch your favorite YouTube videos on your Toshiba tablet , a thing which is not available in the Apple iPad.
It is expected to be out in the market by Spring this year and will be priced close to iPad.

5. Motorola Xoom


Another tablet offering is by Motorola with its tablet named "Xoom" . The tablet flaunts a 10 inch display and would be running android 3.0 honeycomb. It is a 4G supporting tablet and will be having front and rear camera for users to have full G talk facility. However no date is given as to when Motorola will release its tablet.
