Nokia and Microsoft to work together

As we posted our thoughts earlier, today Nokia announced its strategy shift , dropping its symbian platform and switching to windows in an effort to regain its market share and compete with other brands like Apple and Android in the smartphone category.

This is a new beginning for Nokia particularly because it was becoming hard for it to remain competitive on the most lucrative segment of mobile business . It is worth mentioning here that Microsoft also gains much boost from this partnership. Not only it would get increased penetration in global markets through this partnership it would also gain much needed boost needed to counter the success of Android.

Though, its a move in right direction, Nokia has lost precious time and needs to move and act swiftly in the right direction . It would have to deliver products which are highly competitive and have the potential to take on the challenge presented by both Apple and Android.
